Felicia Knox is making her third straight appearance on the preseason list, while Macy Clem earned her second and Gianna Paul, Sasha Pickard and Gessica Skorka made their first appearance
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seventh-ranked Alabama soccer had five players named to the Southeastern Conference preseason watchlist, the league office announced Tuesday.
Felicia Knox paced the group, making her third straight appearance on the preseason list, while Macy Clem was tabbed for the second time. The Crimson Tide had three players earn their first preseason nod as Gianna Paul, Sasha Pickard and Gessica Skorka rounded out the list.
The Crimson Tide Honorees
- Knox has been a regular on the preseason list since her sophomore year in 2021
- She enters the season as the reigning NCAA assists leader, tallying 20 during the 2022 campaign which helped her earn All-America honors
- As a holding midfielder, Clem scored five goals, including a goal against UC Irvine in the third round of the NCAA Tournament, and tallied one assist last season
- Paul's breakout rookie campaign earned her 2022 SEC Freshman of the Year honors
- Despite coming off the bench, Paul scored eight goals, 10th most nationally by a freshman, and tallied 21 points, third most for the Tide
- Pickard and Skorka anchored the UA backline to a program-record 12 shutouts
- Additionally, Pickard and Skorka helped hold 16 teams to 10 or less shots with seven of those teams tallying five or less last season
