Shelton Earns Freshman All-America Honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper

The Lithia, Fla., native is the Tide’s 24th Freshman All-America honoree in program history
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Colby Shelton was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the outlet announced on Wednesday.
The honor is the second of the postseason for Shelton who was also named to the Freshman All-SEC Team. Shelton is the first position player to earn Freshman All-America accolades since Owen Diodati (OF) in 2020.

- Set the Alabama freshman single-season home run record with 22, a total that ties for the fourth-most overall in Crimson Tide single-season history
- Leads UA while tying for fifth in the SEC and 20th nationally in homers
- Recorded five two-homer games to lead all UA hitters
- Hit a home run in four straight games from March 3-7, including grand slams in back-to-back contests from March 4-5
- Also leads Alabama with a .689 slugging percentage that is ninth in the conference
