Davis II, Holman Invited to 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Training Camp

The Tide duo make up a group of 56 of the premiere non-draft eligible college players in Cary, N.C., this summer
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Alton Davis II and Luke Holman were each invited to the 2023 USA Baseball Collegiate National Training Camp, USA Baseball announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The duo help make up a collection of 56 of the premiere non-draft eligible college players. The group will take part in a four-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad series at Cary, N.C., from June 25-28. USA Baseball will name a final, 26-man Collegiate National Team roster after Training Camp that will represent the United States in friendship series against Chinese Taipei and Japan from June 30-July 12.
All four Training Camp games will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary. The series begins on June 25 at 2 p.m. CT, with three games following over the next three days. Game two will be on June 26 at 5 p.m., game three on June 27 at 6 p.m. and game four on June 28 at 5 p.m.
Alton Davis II
Left-Handed Pitcher, Freshman
- Developed into one of the nation's top closers during his freshman season with the Crimson Tide
- Earned a spot on the Freshman All-SEC Team following the conclusion of the regular season
- Appeared in a team-high 24 games entering NCAA Super Regional play
- Leads Alabama and is tied for second in the SEC for saves with eight, including six in conference play to tie for the league-high mark
- Owns a 3.86 ERA (14 ER/32.2 IP) with a 1-2 record and eight saves while adding 32 strikeouts compared to 11 walks for the season
Luke Holman
Right-Handed Pitcher, Sophomore
- The Crimson Tide's ace and one of the top pitchers in the SEC in 2023
- Totaled a team-high seven wins to tie for 11th in the conference
- Limiting the opposition to a .180 average that is the second-lowest mark among conference arms entering NCAA Super Regional play
- Allowing just 5.73 hits per 9.0 innings to rank eighth nationally and second in the SEC
- Sports a 1.05 WHIP that is 16th in Division I and third in the league
- Owns a 3.46 ERA (29 ER/75.1 IP) to lead all Alabama arms and rank sixth in the conference
