TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball will travel to Montgomery on Tuesday to square off with Troy for the Tide's final midweek of the 2023 season. First pitch at Riverwalk Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. Fans can catch all the action live on the Crimson Tide Sports Radio Network.

Leading Off
- Alabama and Troy will meet for the 40th time in history and second time this season when the two teams square off Tuesday evening at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery. The Tide holds the all-time advantage, 27-12, with the two teams even at 3-3 in neutral site pairings.
- The Crimson Tide and Trojans last met on April 4 of this season with UA claiming a 10-2 victory in the midweek. The offense led the way for Alabama, recording 10 hits and drawing eight walks on the way to the 10 runs. The Tide crossed at least one run in five innings, highlighted by a five-run fourth.
- Alabama and Troy have squared off in Montgomery once in series history. The lone contest came on March 4, 2008, with the Trojans notching a 5-4 victory at Riverwalk Stadium.
About Alabama
- Alabama was off in the midweek due to exams but came back from the break with a bang, earning a series win over fifth-ranked Vanderbilt. The Tide claimed victories in the bookend games of the series from Thursday through Saturday.
- The Crimson Tide's pitching was key to the series win, limiting Vanderbilt to seven runs over the three games. Alabama's arms maintained a 2.33 ERA and held the Commodores to just a .200 average overall. UA was also able to limit the base on balls, issuing only four walks compared to 25 strikeouts across the 27.0 total innings pitched.
- UA's pitching staff led the SEC in ERA while allowing the fewest hits, runs and walks across last week.
- Three homers powered Alabama to an 11-2 win over Vandy last Thursday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
- The Tide totaled 10 hits, including the three home runs, and scored in five of the eight innings. The scoring was highlighted by a pair of four-run frames in the second and eighth innings.
- UA's huge second came by way a of grand slam from Andrew Pinckney. The redshirt junior finished his night 2-for-2 with the grand slam, two walks, two runs and a team-high five RBI. The eighth included a three-run shot from Drew Williamson, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. Also homering was Ed Johnson.
- The Tide's early offense allowed Luke Holman to settle in for his team-high sixth win. The sophomore tossed 7.0 innings of two-run ball, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out seven across his career-high 98 pitches.
- Alabama suffered a 4-1 loss to the 'Dores last Friday.
- Vanderbilt jumped ahead early, scoring one apiece in the second and third before adding a pair in the fifth. Alabama got a run back in the sixth on a Caden Rose solo homer but would get no closer.
- Crimson Tide starter Garrett McMillan suffered the loss despite a solid outing. The senior allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts across 6.0 innings of work. He was followed by Hagan Banks and Aidan Moza, who combined for 3.0 scoreless frames to keep the Tide within striking distance on the back-end.
- An eighth-inning homer from Mac Guscette was the difference in Alabama's 2-1 series-clinching win last Saturday.
- Hits and runs were hard to come by in game three, with each team registering only six hits apiece while the Tide held the advantage in runs.
- Vanderbilt struck first with a two-out RBI-double in the top of the third, but a Williamson solo shot in the bottom of the fourth tied things up at one apiece. Both teams would go scoreless until the eighth when Guscette's solo homer to left clinched the game and series for UA.
- Kade Woods earned the win with 2.0 relief frames that included three punchouts. Alton Davis II followed with a scoreless ninth to record his sixth save of the season.
- The relief duo entered after an impressive start by Jacob McNairy. The graduate allowed one run on four hits and a walk with a career-high tying seven strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work.
About Troy
- Skylar Meade is in his second season as a collegiate head coach after spending the 2022 campaign with the Trojans, leading Troy to a 32-24 mark. A 2007 graduate of Louisville, Meade is joined on staff by assistants Adam Godwin and Ben Wolgamot along with volunteer assistant Ethan Landon.
- Troy finished the 2022 season at 32-24 overall, including a 15-15 mark in Sun Belt action.
- The Trojans were selected to finish eighth in the Sun Belt in the league's preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Alabama will travel to Bryan-College Station this weekend for a three-game set with Texas A&M.
