The Crimson Tide continues its road stretch on Sunday in a matchup with the Arkansas Razorbacks

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Alabama women's tennis program (12-8, 5-5 SEC) defeated Missouri (10-13, 1-10 SEC), 4-1, at the Country Club of Missouri on Friday afternoon.

The Crimson Tide's duo of Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak won the first doubles match of the day, 6-0, on court three before the Tigers claimed the next two courts to clinch the doubles point.

From there, Alabama would only need four singles courts to secure the match victory. O. Pitak (6-4, 6-3) and Anna Parkhomenko (6-3, 6-3) gave the Tide a 2-1 match lead after their wins on courts two and four, respectively. On court one, Loudmilla Bencheikh defeated her opponent, 7-6 (9), 6-3, claiming the third singles win for Alabama. After falling in her first set on court three, Petra Sedlackova bounced back with consecutive-set victories (4-6, 6-2, 6-3) to secure the match point for the Crimson Tide.

"I'm proud of our team for keeping their composure and bouncing back after losing the doubles point. Road wins in the SEC are always challenging and I thought our team did a commendable job of responding with wins at one-through four singles. We had to endure some difficult conditions and find a way on a tough day."

After dropping the first doubles match, Missouri responded with consecutive victories on the remaining courts to claim the doubles point
In singles, Ola Pitak (6-4, 6-3) and Anna Parkhomenko (6-3, 6-3) won courts two and four, respectively, in straight sets
Loudmilla Bencheikh also won in straight sets on court one via a 7-6 (9), 6-3 performance
Petra Sedlackova secured the match victory on court three in a three-set, come-from-behind win (4-6, 6-2, 6-3)
