The Crimson Tide is one of four conference schools to either be ranked or receive votes in the opening rankings
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Days after grabbing five of six wins against conference foes, the Alabama rowing program is ranked No. 19 in the Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association's week two rankings, the organization announced Wednesday. The Crimson Tide is joined by top-ranked Texas and No. 18 Tennessee as the Big 12 Conference representatives, with Oklahoma receiving votes for the second consecutive week.
Alabama is coming off a stellar performance in last week's competition in Oak Ridge, Tenn., securing five victories across six races in a one-day matchup with the Lady Vols and the Sooners. After finishing second to Tennessee in the first race of the day, Alabama's Varsity Eight and Varsity Four crews steamrolled its way to the finish line, securing the remaining wins of the day.
The announcement marks the second week in a row that Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas have represented the Big 12 in the coaches' poll, as both the Tide and the Lady Vols race as affiliate members in the conference.
