The Crimson Tide and Trojans will meet for the 39th time in series history on Tuesday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball opens an eight-game homestand on Tuesday when the Crimson Tide hosts Troy at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. First pitch between the in-state foes is slated for 6 p.m. CT with the game airing on SEC Network+.
Tuesday's matchup will be the Crimson Tide's "Bark at the Park" night, with fans having the chance to bring their favorite canine to The Joe. The game will feature a special $7 "Bark at the Park" ticket package for the first 100 fans that includes admission to the game, an Alabama collapsible dog bowl and access to the "Dog Zone" area located in Section AA, BB, A and B. Tuesday's matchup with Troy will also continue the Crimson Tide's '$2 Tuesday' promotion. The deal is one of Alabama's season-long promotions at Sewell-Thomas Stadium and will feature $2 reserved tickets for all fans in attendance.

Leading Off
- Alabama and Troy will meet for the 39th time in history and first time this season when the two teams square off Tuesday evening at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Tide holds the all-time advantage, 26-12, including a 21-5 mark at home.
- The Crimson Tide and Trojans last met on March 2 a year ago The midweek at The Joe finished in favor of UA with an 8-1 final.
About Alabama
- The Crimson Tide finished the week at 2-2. Alabama first took down Middle Tennessee in Huntsville last Tuesday before claiming one win at sixth-ranked Arkansas over the weekend.
- UA's offense highlighted the four-game stretch. The Tide batted .361 as a team and recorded 16 extra-base hits, eight of which were home runs. Alabama produced double-digit hits in three of the four contests, including a season-high 22 at Arkansas on March 31 as part of 44 total hits across the series with the Razorbacks.
- Tommy Seidl led the way, batting .588 (10-17) with two doubles, two RBI, four runs and a pair of stolen bases. Ed Johnson was right behind him, batting .471 (8-17) with a double, two RBI, four runs, a pair of walks and one stolen base. Jim Jarvis was also above the .400 mark for the week at .412 (7-17) with two doubles, two home runs, four RBI, five runs, three walks and a hit-by-pitch.
- Alabama used a pair of big innings to secure a 10-4 win over Middle Tennessee on Tuesday evening at Toyota Field.
- Both teams went scoreless through the first three frames before matching with four runs apiece in the fourth. Alabama then added one in the sixth on an Andrew Pinckney home run, with the go-ahead homer proving to be all the Tide would need. The eighth then saw UA add another five runs for the 10-4 final.
- Alabama's offense was led by the 6-7-8 hitters in Johnson, Pinckney and Seidl. Johnson finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored with Pinckney posting a 3-for-4 showing that included the homer, one RBI and a team-high three runs. Seidl matched Pinckney for the team lead in hits with his 3-for-4 showing that included a double, two RBI and one run.
- Zane Probst picked up the win in Huntsville with 2.0 scoreless innings of relief, walking one and striking out a pair.
- The Crimson Tide bats were on fire Friday night at Baum-Walker Stadium, powering Alabama to a 12-1 victory over sixth-ranked Arkansas. Alabama's offense totaled a season-high 22 hits on the way to 12 runs for the win.
- Alabama scored in five of the nine innings with all nine starters recording at least one hit, including eight multi-hit performances. The bats also produced four home runs with one apiece from Drew Williamson, William Hamiter, Colby Shelton and Mac Guscette.
- Williamson tied for the team lead in hits with three while adding two RBI, two runs and a walk. Shelton and Guscette each tallied two hits and two runs with Shelton adding a walk and an RBI while Guscette recorded two RBI to tie for the team-best mark. Caden Rose, Johnson and Seidl each matched Williamson for the team lead in hits with three.
- The Tide also received a strong performance from its pitching staff on Friday. Ben Hess picked up the win in a shortened outing, tossing 4.0 innings and allowing one run on two hits with five punchouts. Hagan Banks followed, retiring all 12 batters he faced in order across his 4.0 relief frames, before Connor Ball worked a scoreless ninth.
- Alabama traded blows with Arkansas on Saturday, with the Tide coming up short, 9-6, in a back-and-forth contest.
- The Crimson Tide got out to a 4-0 lead with one in the second and three in the fourth. Arkansas answered with a three-run home half of the fourth to cut the lead to one. The Hogs tied things up with one in the sixth, but the Tide countered with one in the seventh to retake the lead at 5-4.
- Following the stretch, a two-run frame put Arkansas back in front, but, once again, Alabama was able to even things up with a run in the eighth. In the home half of the eight, a pair of home runs staked the Razorbacks to a 9-6 advantage.
- The Tide offense was solid once again on Saturday, totaling 15 hits, including five for extra bases. Williamson and Seidl tied for the team lead in hits with three apiece while Dominic Tamez led in RBI with two. Jarvis and Pinckney rounded out the bats, each delivering a solo home run.
- A back-and-forth contest on Sunday finished in favor of the Razorbacks, 5-4.
- Both teams traded two runs apiece in the first before the Tide took the lead with one in the fifth. Arkansas answered in the home half, scoring a pair to take a 4-3 lead. Alabama countered for one in the sixth to even things up, but the Hogs came right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame for the 5-4 lead.
- The Crimson Tide reached the tying and go-ahead runs in the eighth but were unable to take advantage with the Razorbacks clinching the Sunday win and series victory.
About Troy
- Skylar Meade is in his second season as a collegiate head coach after spending the 2022 campaign with the Trojans, leading Troy to a 32-24 mark. A 2007 graduate of Louisville, Meade is joined on staff by assistants Adam Godwin and Ben Wolgamot along with volunteer assistant Ethan Landon.
- Troy finished the 2022 season at 32-24 overall, including a 15-15 mark in Sun Belt action.
- The Trojans were selected to finish eighth in the Sun Belt in the league's preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
On Deck
Alabama will break from game action for a day before Mississippi State comes to town for a Thursday through Saturday series. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs are set for a pair of 6 p.m. first pitches on Thursday and Friday with Saturday's matchup scheduled for 5Â p.m. Games one and two of the series will air on SEC Network+ with the finale receiving national attention on ESPNU.
