Alabama Rolls to 4-1 Win over Kentucky

Anne Marie Hiser cliched the deciding point for the Crimson Tide to give Alabama the win over the Wildcats
LEXINGTON, Ky. –– The Alabama women's tennis team (11-8, 4-5 SEC) took a 4-1 victory over Kentucky (12-9, 4-6 SEC) on Sunday.
Alabama emerged victorious from a competitive doubles battle. Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova captured the first win with a 7-5 victory on court two, before the No. 34 nationally ranked doubles team of Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh defeated the No. 63 doubles pairing of Carlota Molina and Elizabeth Stevens, 7-5. Additionally, Ola Pitak and Kasia Pitak held a 6-5 lead on court three when the first point was clinched.
Klara Milicevic moved Alabama out to a 2-0 start with a straight-set victory on court six. Kentucky recorded a win on court three for the Wildcat's lone point of the match. UA captured wins from Ola Pitak on court two and Hiser court five for the team victory.

"Today was a total team effort. The team showed a lot of grit and resiliency bouncing back after a tough loss on Friday.
"It was a battle from the start of the match. Getting the doubles point gave us a boost and then we got a solid start in singles. We had to finish strong today because Kentucky played hard and did not go away."
The Match
- Alabama found back-to-back 7-5 wins in doubles to claim the first point
- Parkhomenko and Sedlackova defeated Elli Eades and Zoe Hammond on court two for the first win of the day
- The No. 34 doubles team of Hiser and Bencheikh defeated the 63rd-nationally ranked team of Molina and Stevens 7-5 for the first point of the match
- Milicevic topped Maialen Morante 6-2, 6-3 on court six in singles to give UA a 2-0 lead
- After a win by Kentucky on court three, Ola Pitak went 6-2, 7-5 on court two against Eades to make the score 3-1
- Hiser captured a 6-1 victory in the opening set against Hammond on court five, but fell 6-3 in the second set
- Hiser responded with a 6-3 victory in the third set to claim the deciding point for the Tide
