No. 8 Alabama Gymnastics Set to Compete in Norman Regional

The Crimson Tide will compete against No. 9 Kentucky, Illinois and Iowa in Thursday’s semifinal round
NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 8 Alabama gymnastics team will compete in the semifinal round of the 2023 NCAA Regional Championships on Thursday at 2 p.m. CT in the Lloyd Noble Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
Alabama is the top seed in its semifinal session, followed by No. 9 Kentucky, Illinois and Iowa. The four teams will all compete in a quad meet format.
The second of Thursday's two semifinal sessions will feature the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners, No. 16 Ohio State, Arkansas and NC State. The contest will get underway at 7 p.m. CT.
The top-two teams from each semifinal session will advance to Saturday's regional final. The meet will get underway at 5 p.m. CT, with the top-two teams from the final advancing to the NCAA Championships.
All sessions of the NCAA Regional Championships can be streamed live on ESPN+.

"This is the most exciting time of year, and what our team has been training for all season long. This team has proven time and time again that they know how to step up in big moments against tough competition. The biggest goal for our team will be to stay in the moment and locked in. If we can stay in the moment and in our Bama bubble, that is going to allow us to have a great competition Thursday to have the opportunity to compete again on Saturday."
Alabama at the NCAA Regional Championships
- Alabama has advanced to the NCAA Regionals every year since the beginning of the format in 1982, with the exception of the 2020 season where the postseason was canceled due to COVID-19
- The Tide has won an NCAA-record 32 Regional team titles
- The Crimson Tide has competed against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 9 Kentucky and Arkansas already this season
- Alabama maintained a 3-0 record against the Razorbacks this year, while splitting its two matchups against the Wildcats and falling to the Sooners at the Metroplex Challenge
