Nine Alabama Swimmers Receive CSCAA All-America Honors

Kaique Alves, Cam Auerbach, Charlie Hawke, Victor Johansson, Tim Korstanje, Derek Maas, Matt Menke, Mateo Miceli and Kacper Piotrowski earned All-America recognition following the conclusion of the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Nine members of the Alabama men's swimming and diving team were named All-Americans by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the organization announced Monday.
Derek Maas earned first-team All-American honors after his podium finish in the 100 breaststroke. Kaique Alves, Cam Auerbach, Charlie Hawke, Victor Johansson, Tim Korstanje, Matt Menke, Mateo Miceli and Kacper Piotrowski picked up second-team recognition following the conclusion of the Crimson Tide's showing in Minneapolis.
The Crimson Tide Nominees
- Derek Maas became a first-team All-American after an eighth-place, podium finish in the 100 breaststroke. It was the second straight year Maas has podiumed in the event.
- Kaique Alves, Charlie Hawke, Tim Korstanje and Matt Menke earned second-team honors after an 18th-place finish as members of the 400 freestyle relay
- Cam Auerbach and Kacper Piotrowski were awarded second-team honors after their 10th-place showing in the 800 freestyle relay. Alves and Hawke were also members of the relay contingent.
- Mateo Miceli picked up his second-team honor, along with Korstanje, Maas and Menke, with an 11th-place finish in the 200 medley relay
- Victor Johansson, Hawke and Maas also received second-team recognition from their individual races in the 1650 freestyle, 200 yard freestyle and 200 breaststroke, respectively
