Alabama’s Rhyan White Grabs Program’s Third Podium Finish on Day Three of NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

The Crimson Tide swimmer earned her third-consecutive, top-eight NCAA finish in the 100 backstroke
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama women's swimming and diving team earned its third podium finish at the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships as Rhyan White led the Crimson Tide to an eighth-place finish in the 100 backstroke to earn first-team All-America honors. The performance (51.26) marks the third-consecutive NCAA podium finish in the event for the super senior.
Alabama currently sits at 14th in the team standings, with 75 points at the conclusion of Day Three's sessions. The Crimson Tide will look to add to its point total as it wraps up the meet on Saturday.
Crimson Tide Highlights
- White earned her third-consecutive NCAA podium finish in the 100 backstroke, recording an eighth-place finish with a time of 51.26 to earn first-team All-America honors
- White also placed 22nd overall in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 51.95
- Kalia Antoniou, Emily Jones, Avery Wiseman and White combined to post a 3:30.74 finish in the 400 medley relay, placing 13th en route to second-team All-America honors
- Jocelyn Fisher (32nd), Diana Petkova (31st), Wiseman (23rd) and Cat Wright (43rd) represented Alabama in the 100 breaststroke during the morning prelims

- Kensey McMahon, recent 500 freestyle NCAA champion, will represent the Crimson Tide in the timed finals of the 1650 freestyle, where she will compete in the fastest heat of Saturday's finals session
