Cobbins led the Crimson Tide in community service hours for the 2022-23 season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Ryan Cobbins was named to the Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Community Service Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Cobbins led the Crimson Tide in community service hours for the 2022-23 season. The UA senior began working with the Rise Center over the summer, where she helped young children develop necessary skills needed to succeed both in and out of the classroom. She also assisted with the Tide's Halloween Extravaganza, an event that celebrates Halloween and allows children in the community to play games and trick-or-treat with Alabama student-athletes.
Additionally, Cobbins and the Alabama women's basketball team spent time volunteering during the holiday season. Cobbins and the team attended the Houndstooth and Holly event hosted by the Capstone Village, a local residential community for residents 55 years or older. In addition to spending time with local residents, the team served as the judge for a holiday sweater contest. UA continued its focus on giving back to the community by volunteering at the West Alabama Food Bank, where it spent time preparing food to be distributed to young students and the community for the holidays.
