The Crimson Tide looks to improve to 13-0 in SEC play
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second time in program history and first since 2002-03, the Alabama men's basketball program is ranked No. 1 in the nation and will take its top-ranking on the road to face No. 10/11 Tennessee Wednesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena. The Tide looks to improve to 13-0 in the Southeastern Conference for just the second time in program history (Alabama finished the 1955-56 conference season with a perfect 14-0 record).
Alabama is looking for its 23rd win, which would set the program record for most wins through the first 26 games of the season. Two of the best defenses in the nation will square off as both defenses rank as the top-two in holding their opponents to the lowest effective field goal percentage this season (No. 1 Tennessee, 40.7 percent and No. 2 Alabama, 41.1 percent).Â
Two of the best offensive players in the SEC will also be on display as UA's Brandon Miller ranks No. 1 in the SEC in scoring (18.8 ppg) while UT's Zakai Zeigler ranks No. 2 in assists per game (5.4).Â
The Broadcast
Wednesday's game is set for a 6 p.m. CT tipoff and will be aired on ESPN2 with Karl Ravech (play-by-play), Jay Bilas (analyst) and Alyssa Lang (sideline) on the call.
The radio broadcast can be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network with Chris Stewart (play-by-play) and Bryan Passink (analyst) on the call, while Tom Stipe (engineer) is turning the dials. The pregame show will begin one hour prior to tipoff.
