Alabama Welcomes Winthrop and Morehead State to Coleman Coliseum

The Crimson Tide will play Winthrop on Friday and Morehead State on Sunday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball (1-0) will host a pair of home games this weekend, welcoming Winthrop on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT and Morehead State on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT to Coleman Coliseum.
Both games will be televised on SEC Network+ with play-by-play announcer Gray Robertson and analyst Richard Hendrix on the call. Chris Harris will be on the call for the Crimson Tide Sports Network radio broadcast, while James Hardy will anchor the CTSN's radio coverage for Sunday's game.
About Alabama
- Alabama opened its 2023-24 campaign with a 93-39 win over Alabama State on Nov. 6
- The Crimson Tide forced 33 turnovers and scored 48 points in the paint

About Morehead State
- Morehead State (0-1) concluded the 2022-23 season with a 11-20 record and went 6-12 in Ohio Valley Conference play
- The Eagles opened its 2023-24 campaign at Illinois on Nov. 7, losing 81-61
- The 12th-seeded Eagles upset 5th-seeded UT-Martin, 70-68, in the opening round of the OVC Tournament, marking the program's first postseason win since its 71-61 win over Ohio State in the opening round of the 2019 WNIT
- Morehead State returns the reigning OVC Defensive Player of the Year in Veronica Charles, who also earned All-OVC First-Team, All-Newcomer Team and was named to the 2023-24 Preseason All-OVC Team
- Along with conference honors, Charles led the Eagles in scoring last season, scoring an average of 13.1 points per contest
- Morehead State was picked to finish ninth in the league's coaches poll for the season
