
Doris Lemngole, Hilda Olemomoi Selected as Finalists for Honda Award for Cross Country

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama cross country duo of Doris Lemngole and Hilda Olemomoi were among four finalists for the Class of 2024 Honda Sport Award for Cross Country, announced Monday by The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).
With the announcement, Alabama has now had runners selected for the Honda Sport Award five times over the last four years. Two-time finalist Mercy Chelangat became the program's first Honda Sport Award winner for cross country in the 2020-21 season.

- 2023 SEC Women's Freshman of the Year
- Won silver at the 2023 SEC Cross Country Championships
- Finished runner-up at the NCAA South Regional Championships

Hilda Olemomoi | Honda Sport Award Finalist
- Finished fourth at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships
- Won bronze at the 2023 SEC Cross Country Championships
- Finished third at the NCAA South Regional Championships
- 2023 USTFCCA All-American
- 2022, 2023 First Team All-SEC
- Three-time All-American in indoor/outdoor track and field
2024 Honda Sport Award, Cross Country
- Joining Lemngole and Olemomoi is Florida's Parker Valby and Olivia Markezich from Notre Dame
- The finalists were selected from the top four finishes at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships
- The Honda Sport award winner for cross country will be announced the week of Dec. 4 after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools

- The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, and the prestigious 2024 Honda Cup
