Six Alabama Soccer Players Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District List

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team had six members named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced. Bella Scaturro Bright, Felicia Knox and Gessica Skorka earned the honor for the second time as Marianna Annest, Itala Gemelli and Gianna Paul earned the honor for the first time in their career.

About the Honorees

Felicia Knox and Gessica Skorka earned the honor in 2022 as both went on to earn First Team Academic All-America
Knox was tabbed as the program's first-ever 2022 CSC Academic Team Member of the Year
Bella Scaturro Bright was named as an all-district honoree in 2021 after redshirting last season
Marianna Annest, Itala Gemelli and Gianna Paul earned the honor for the first time in their career
Paul and Knox paced the Crimson Tide in goals (8) and assists (6), respectively, as the two also led the team in total points as Paul finished the year with 17 and Knox with 14
Additionally, Knox currently ranks seventh nationally in career assists with 31 over her career
As members of the UA defense, Annest, Skorka and Scaturro Bright helped UA shut out eight teams and held 11 teams to three or less shots on goal
Despite playing on the defensive side of the ball, Skorka ranked second on the team in assists this season with four, while Annest tallied four goals and three assists
Itala Gemelli currently ranks 19^th nationally in career goals (36) which includes a three goal, two assists performance this season
