
Lemngole Captures Second Consecutive SEC Weekly Honor

The Crimson Tide freshman was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Runner of the Week, securing her second-straight weekly honor to begin her career
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A day after being named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week, Alabama cross country freshman Doris Lemngole picked up her second consecutive Southeastern Conference weekly honor, the league office announced Tuesday.
Lemngole was named the SEC Women's Runner of the Week for her individual title at the prestigious Joe Piane Invitational last weekend.

- Captured her second straight victory via a 16:05.9 performance in a field that featured three other squads ranked in the top 30, nationally
- Her 16:05.9 time was the fastest for a 5K race throughout the SEC over the weekend, and ten seconds faster than the Joe Piane's second-place finisher
- Named USTFCCCA Division I National Women's Athlete of the Week on Oct. 2
- Two races, two titles to begin the Crimson Tide freshman's career
- Southern Showcase (Sept. 15) – first-place finish (16:12.10)
- Joe Piane Invitational (Sept. 29) – first-place finish (16:05.9)
- Helped lead the No. 22 Alabama women's squad to its third consecutive top-four finish of the 2023 season
- Entered the nationally competitive meet ranked No. 3 in FloTrack's NCAA cross country individual women's rankings
