Gianna Paul paced the Crimson Tide offense as UA led the game in shots, shots on goal and corner kicks
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 16 Alabama soccer team (10-4-4, 4-4-1 SEC) fell, 2-0, in a tough battle Sunday night against Mississippi State (10-3-4, 5-2-2 SEC).
Despite Alabama leading the game in shots, 13-9, shots on goal, 6-4, and corner kicks, 6-3, the Bulldogs found a pair of second half goals to take the win. The loss would conclude an impressive 28-game unbeaten streak for the Tide at the Alabama Soccer Stadium that started during the 2021 campaign.
From Head Coach Wes Hart
"I look at the game as a whole, and we created enough chances. We got three or four good looks in the first half, three or four good looks in the second half. We didn't finish our chances and they made the most of theirs. And that's the game.
"We created more chances tonight than we did in some of the early round games. When we were getting some of these results early in the season, I wasn't real happy with the soccer and the amount of attacks and the amount of chances. We're creating more chances (now), we just didn't finish."
