Hilda Olemomoi, Doris Lemngole Sweep SEC Weekly Honors Following One-Two Finish at Crimson Classic

Olemomoi was named the Southeastern Conference Women’s Co-Runner of the Week, while Lemngole captured Women’s Freshman of the Week honors
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the third time this season, Alabama cross country has found itself represented on the Southeastern Conference weekly honors list. Following their one-two finish at last weekend's Crimson Classic, Hilda Olemomoi was named the SEC Women's Co-Runner of the Week for her individual title, while teammate Doris Lemngole secured SEC Women's Freshman of the Week honors for her second-place finish.
The standout duo crossed the finish line simultaneously, as Olemomoi finished only two-tenths of a second ahead of Lemngole to secure the top-two fastest 6K times across the SEC. It's the first weekly honor of the season for Olemomoi and the third for Lemngole.
Hilda Olemomoi: Co-Runner of the Week
- Captured her first individual win of the season to secure the Tide's sweep of both the team and individual titles
- Her 18:56.9 time was the fastest for a 6K race throughout the SEC over the weekend
- Helped lead the No. 14 Alabama women's squad to the team title, as Alabama swept both the men's and women's crown at home
- Entered the home meet ranked No. 11 in FloTrack's NCAA cross country individual women's rankings
Doris Lemngole: Freshman of the Week
- Captured her third straight top-two finish of the season, clocking 18:57.1 to cross the line only two-tenths of a second behind teammate Olemomoi
- Lemngole has successfully earned a conference weekly honor following the conclusion of all three of her races this season
