
Alabama’s Grant Nelson, Mark Sears Named Preseason All-SEC

The Crimson Tide picked to finish fifth in SEC race by local and national media
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama men's basketball duo Grant Nelson and Mark Sears were announced as Southeastern Conference Preseason All-SEC selections, the league office announced Tuesday. Nelson was named First Team All-SEC while Sears was a Second Team All-SEC honoree. In addition, the Crimson Tide was picked to finish fifth in the league as voted on by a select panel of both SEC and national media members.
Texas A&M senior guard Wade Taylor IV was the choice of the media for SEC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Nelson is joined on the first team by Arkansas' Trevon Brazile, Auburn's Johni Broome, Kentucky's Justin Edewards, Mississippi State's Tolu Smith, Tennessee's Santiago Vescovi and Texas A&M's Taylor IV. Along with Sears, the second team is made up of Arkansas' Davonte Davis, Florida's Riley Kugel, Kentuky's Antonio Reeves and Tennessee's Zakai Zeigler.
