Football Welcomes Arkansas for Homecoming
After two weeks on the road, our football team is back in action at home, hosting Arkansas on Saturday for an 11 a.m. kick. Lots of Homecoming activities planned for the weekend, including the parade, which begins at 7 a.m. on Saturday. Due to visiting team returns, additional tickets are available and can be purchased through the Alabama Ticket Office.
Celebration of Champions
Thursday afternoon, we honored our 2022-23 champions on the Sarah Patterson Champions Plaza with our Celebration of Champions ceremony. Our NCAA and SEC individual champions were in attendance in addition to members of the men's and women's cross country, soccer and men's basketball teams for their conference titles.
Andre Smith Named to 2023 SEC Legends Class
Congratulations to Andre Smith for being named to the SEC's 2023 Football Legends class this week. Andre was a unanimous All-America selection, starting at left tackle for three years (2006-08), and became just the second Alabama player to win the Outland Trophy. He will be honored at events surrounding the SEC Football Championship Game in Atlanta.
Petra Sedlackova Wins ITA Southern Regional Championship
Another championship came back to Tuscaloosa this week as Petra Sedlackova captured the ITA Southern Regional Singles Championship for the first time in her career. She became the third Tide player in program history, and first since 2012, to win the individual crown. Way to go, Petra!
Cross Country Hosts Crimson Classic on Friday
Our nationally-ranked cross country teams will close out the regular season at home Friday, hosting the Crimson Classic. The men will start their race at 8:20 a.m. CT across the Harry Pritchett Running Course, while the women will close the Crimson Classic at 9:20 a.m. Admission is free.
Soccer Returns Home for Friday Match Against LSU
Soccer is back on the pitch Friday night, hosting LSU at 7 p.m. Come early for some prematch trick or treating! We will also have a halftime costume contest.
Baseball to take on Auburn in Fall Exhibition Friday
Also on the schedule for Friday night is baseball's first fall exhibition, where we will take on Auburn. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium and admission is free. Please note that concessions will not be open and alcohol is not permitted for the fall exhibition game, however fans are allowed to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages in.
Softball Continues Fall Schedule with Wallace State on Sunday
Softball will resume its fall ball season Sunday at Rhoads Stadium with a doubleheader against Wallace State, beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the gate.
Men's Golf Wins Hamptons Intercollegiate
Our men's golf team returned from New York with some new hardware after winning the Hamptons Intercollegiate Championship where all five starters finished inside the top 20. Nick Dunlap led the way with a career-best 16-under par to finish as the individual runner-up. Win calls for milkshakes!
Basketball Season Right Around the Corner
The countdown is on as we near the start of basketball season in Tuscaloosa. Following exhibitions, our men's and women's teams open up with a doubleheader on Monday, November 6 at Coleman Coliseum. Season tickets are on sale now, so get yours today if you haven't already.
Gymnastics Hosts Annual Ghosts and Goblins Meet
Our gymnastics team will host its annual ghosts and goblins intrasquad meet on Friday, October 20 at 4 p.m. inside the Frances Smith Practice Facility. Admission is free, and there will be giveaways, games and a costume contest!
Halloween Extravaganza Scheduled for October 23
More Halloween fun is in store with our annual Halloween Extravaganza, which will take place on Monday, October 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. The event, hosted by our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is for children 13 and under. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support the Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger food drive.
