Alabama Gymnastics Faces Kentucky Friday Night in Memorial Coliseum

Both teams are 1-1 within the SEC heading into the matchup
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 13 Alabama gymnastics team travels to Lexington, Ky., to compete against the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT inside Memorial Coliseum.
The Crimson Tide is 2-1 so far this season, while the Wildcats are 3-2, and both teams are 1-1 in conference matchups.
The meet will be broadcast live on SEC Network.

"Kentucky's a great team. Year in and year out, they've been on the rise. We expect it to be a great matchup and a tough environment, and we're preparing this week to be able to handle anything that is thrown our way. We learned a lot this past Friday night, and we are continuing to grow and progress as a team as we move forward throughout the season."

- The Crimson Tide and the Wildcats last competed against each other in the regular season on Jan. 21, 2022, with Alabama winning 197.650-196.275 in Coleman Coliseum
- The two teams last squared off in Lexington on Jan. 29, 2021, with Alabama taking home a 196.775-196.400 win on the road
- Alabama is 1-0 on the road so far this year, defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks two weeks ago, while the Wildcats are 1-0 at home, with a win over the LSU Tigers on Jan. 13
Last Time Out
- Alabama fell to the No. 2 Florida Gators, 197-325-196.450, last Friday in Coleman Coliseum
- The Crimson Tide recorded seven scores of 9.9-or-higher in the matchup: Jordyn Paradise on vault (9.900), Luisa Blanco on the uneven bars (9.900), Ella Burgess on balance beam (9.900) and Gabby Gladieux (9.900), Shania Adams (9.900), Lilly Hudson (9.925) and Luisa Blanco (9.950) on floor exercise all hit the mark
- Adams' 9.900 matched her career high on floor
- Burgess' 9.900 on balance beam gives her a 9.900-or-higher on eight of her last 10 routines, with no score below 9.850
- Gladieux has now scored 9.875-or-higher in all three of her floor routines so far this season
- Shania Adams, Sania Mitchell and Lauren Little all made their first appearances in the Tide's lineup this season, with Adams competing on vault and floor exercise, Little on vault and the uneven bars and Mitchell on the vault
- Lilly Hudson was the Tide's sole all-around competitor, scoring a 39.425 with scores of 9.875 on the vault, 9.775 on the uneven bars, 9.850 on balance beam and 9.925 on floor exercise
- The Crimson Tide's balance beam (49.250) and floor exercise (49.425) rotation totals were its highest of the season
