
Alabama Swimmer Kalia Antoniou Named Cyprus’ Best Female Athlete of 2022

All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association’s Best Female Athlete from Cyprus
TUSCALOOSA – Alabama Olympian and All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association's 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.
Antoniou earned both first and second-team All-America honors at the 2022 NCAA Championships. A graduate student, Antoniou also competed for Cyprus, earlier this year, at the World Championships in Budapest.

- Antoniou earned First-Team All-American honors as a member of the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay at the 2022 NCAA Championships
- The Cyprus international also earned Second-Team All-American honors in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and as a member of the 800 freestyle relay
- At the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Antoniou placed 10th in the 50 freestyle and 13th in the 100 freestyle
- Antoniou earned three gold medals at the 2022 SEC Championships in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay
- Individually, she earned silver in the 100 freestyle at the 2022 SEC Championships
