Alabama Swimmer Kalia Antoniou Named Cyprus’ Best Female Athlete of 2022

TUSCALOOSA – Alabama Olympian and All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association's 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.

Antoniou earned both first and second-team All-America honors at the 2022 NCAA Championships. A graduate student, Antoniou also competed for Cyprus, earlier this year, at the World Championships in Budapest.

Antoniou earned First-Team All-American honors as a member of the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay at the 2022 NCAA Championships
The Cyprus international also earned Second-Team All-American honors in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and as a member of the 800 freestyle relay
At the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, Antoniou placed 10^thin the 50 freestyle and 13^th in the 100 freestyle
Antoniou earned three gold medals at the 2022 SEC Championships in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay
Individually, she earned silver in the 100 freestyle at the 2022 SEC Championships
