Crimson Tide split Friday between a practice and an intrasquad to open the fall
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama baseball team practiced as a full squad for the first time this fall, working out on Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The first official practice started with skill work before an intrasquad scrimmage to close out the day.
"The kids were really excited to play today after training for a month," said head coach Brad Bohannon. "We got great kids, they give great effort, and they love to play and practice. The pitching was a little bit ahead of the hitting, but we did some good things both on the mound and at the plate. This was a very good starting point today, and I'm very pleased."
The Crimson Tide will follow the same practice-scrimmage split on Saturday afternoon, starting day two at 11 a.m. CT leading up to a 12 p.m. first pitch in the intrasquad. Following Saturday's practice, the team will head to The Quad to sign autographs prior to the Alabama-Vanderbilt football game. Fans looking to meet the 2022-23 group and get autographs can join the team from 3:30-4 p.m. next to Denny Chimes.
Admission to Alabama baseball's on-field activity is free to the public. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans are to stay in the lower bowl seating area with access to the upper levels of the stadium strictly prohibited.
