Undefeated Weekend at Home
We had an outstanding start to our slate of home events for the 2022-23 season, going 5-0 on the weekend. Soccer capped off the run with a commanding 3-0 victory over No. 18 Clemson on Sunday after having shut out Southern Miss on Thursday, 2-0. Volleyball, under first-year head coach Rashinda Reed, went 3-0 to win the Crimson Tide Invitational with a 3-1 decision over McNeese, 3-0 victory against UTSA and 3-1 win versus Southern Miss. Also deserving of mention is the incredible crowd support we had at both venues. It truly does make a difference for our teams when we have so many fans in attendance engaged and supporting the Crimson Tide, so we hope to see that continued throughout the season!
Football Kicks off Season Saturday
The 2022 football season kicks off Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium where we host Utah State for a 6:30 p.m. start. A night game means we will be able to fire up the lights early on this year, which we are very excited about! Due to visiting team returns, we have a handful of seats available in the lower bowl as well as some in the uppers, starting at $25.

Cross Country Opening at No. 1
Our men's and women's cross country teams roll into the 2022 season ranked No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference by a vote of the league's coaches. Dan Waters' crew gets things going on Thursday at the Lion Opener in Florence, Ala., and we're excited to see where this season takes our long-distance standouts.
College Colors Day
Don't forget to wear your crimson and white on Friday, September 2 as we celebrate College Colors Day! Be sure to tag your photos on social using #CollegeColorsDay and #RollTideFriday and also let us know where you're checking in from, so we can see all the different locations where the Tide is being represented.
Softball Announces Eight-Game Fall Schedule
Fans will have the opportunity to see softball in action eight times this fall with seven of those games taking place in Tuscaloosa beginning Oct. 15. In addition to the home events, head coach Patrick Murphy's squad will play in the rescheduled Sand Mountain Showdown against Jacksonville State in Albertville on Oct. 12.
Crimson Kickoff Mixer
I had the opportunity to meet with our newcomers on Sunday as we celebrated the opening of the 2022-23 academic year with the Crimson Kickoff Mixer, put on by our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. It was a great event that sets us up for an amazing year!
Swimming and Diving Ready to Go
Our swimming and diving squads announced their 2022-23 schedule today, with the women, who finished a program-best fourth at last year's NCAA Championships, opening the season at Arkansas on Sept. 30, while the men, who finished 14th in the nation in 2022, head across the state border to take on Delta State in Cleveland, Miss., on the same day. Margo Geer and company's home opener comes on Oct. 15 against South Carolina.
