Bond arrives in Tuscaloosa after assistant coaching stints at Drake and Illinois-Springfield
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball welcomes Sarah Bond as its Operations Coordinator, joining head coach Rashinda Reed's support staff in her first season with the Crimson Tide.
"I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity to join the Alabama volleyball staff," said Bond. "I can't wait to get to work to help build the Crimson Tide volleyball program and be part of the rich tradition here at Alabama. The opportunity to work with such an amazing coaching staff with such a strong vision for the program, a talented group of student-athletes and the support staff here at Alabama means the world to me. Roll Tide!"
Bond most recently served as an assistant coach at Drake University, organizing the team's travel and gameday operations while also working with the team's hitters and setters. Prior to working with the Bulldogs, she was an assistant coach at her alma mater University of Illinois Springfield for two years. With the Prairie Stars, she assisted in the development of nine all-conference players, including a pair of All-Americans. A Naperville, Ill., native, Bond played at UIS from 2014-17, earning the team's Coaches Award her senior season, and earned her bachelor's and master's degrees there. In addition to her time in Springfield, she assisted with the Sports Performance Volleyball Club in Aurora, Ill., for five seasons, hosting high-level training camps across the country.
