
Alabama Track and Field Distance Crew Notches Wins at Maroon and White Invitational

Eliud Kipsang won the 800 meters, while Victor Kiprop took top honors in the 1,500 meters
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track & field distance crew picked up a pair of wins at the Maroon and White Invitational in Starkville, Miss., Friday night.
The Crimson Tide went one-two in the men's 800 meters with Eliud Kipsang running a 1:48.49 to take the win and Jacob Lamb turning in a 1:48.92 for second.
Victor Kiprop (3:40.79) and Jace Jones (3:50.09) took first and fourth in the 1,500 meters. Kiprop's time ranks him fourth all-time at UA.
Riley Schelp went 4:43.43 to take third in the women's 1,500 meters.
