
Crimson Tide Swimming Contingent Slated for U.S. International Team Trials

A total of five Alabama swimmers will take to the pool this week for a chance to earn a spot on Team USA
GREENSBORO, N.C. – A contingent of Alabama swimmers are back in action this week at the USA Swimming International Team Trials in Greensboro, N.C., site of the 2021 NCAA Championships. The trials begin Tuesday and run through Saturday, April 30.
Ben Hines, Derek Maas, Morgan Scott, Rhyan White and Kailyn Winter will all compete in Greensboro this week. White and Scott will be particularly busy with White slated to swim the 50, 100 and 200-meter backstrokes as well as the 100-meter butterfly, while Scott will swim the 50, 100 and 200-meter freestyles. Hines and Winter will swim the 50-meter freestyles, while Maas will take on the 100-meter breaststroke.
The trials serve as a selection meet to qualify U.S. teams for the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Hawaii.
