The Crimson Tide closes the regular season on Sunday against No. 11 Georgia

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –– The Alabama men's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 5 Tennessee on Friday at the Barksdale Stadium.

Joao Ferreira and Zach Foster led Alabama during the day's events. Ferreira saw two competitive sets as he dropped 7-5, 7-6 (4) against UT's Angel Diaz on court five. Foster battled to win an opening set tiebreaker, but fell 0-7 (0), 6-2, 10-8 on court six against Conor Gannon.

The Match

With the loss, Alabama falls to 8-19 on the year and 0-11 in Southeastern Conference play as Tennessee moves to 19-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play
Tennessee took the opening point with wins on doubles courts two and one, respectively
The Volunteers followed with a win on court four and two to move ahead 3-0 in the match
Despite a battle in the second set on court three, Tennessee would go on to clinch the match and the overall victory
Zach Foster led the Crimson Tide, forcing a third-set 10-point tiebreaker on court six
Foster took the opening set 7-6 (0), but fell 6-2 in the second set before dropping a contested third-set, 10-point tiebreaker 10-8
On court five, Ferreira took five games off of Angel Diaz and forced a tiebreaker in the second set in his 7-5, 7-6 (4) loss
