Alabama Rowing Wraps up Weekend at Pac-12 Invitational

The Crimson Tide battles windy conditions on Lake Las Vegas
HENDERSON, Nev. – Alabama rowing wrapped up its weekend at the Pac-12 Invitational Sunday afternoon, battling strong winds all morning to get three of its four scheduled races in.
A strong head wind delayed racing three hours, though the conditions remained challenging when racing resumed. The Crimson Tide's 1V8+ finished with a mark of 7:14.60 against eighth-ranked Washington, 12th-ranked USC and Washington State, while the 2V8+ finished in 7:46.32 and the 1V4+ crossed the line in 8:03.13. The 2V4+ race was scratched due to the travel schedule.

"We came to Las Vegas to challenge ourselves against some of the best teams in the country. While we didn't get the results we wanted, we did find that we were competitive for a good portion of the race but we struggled to finish. The weather today was extremely challenging for all the competitors and we leave here knowing we have the ability to compete with these crews. We need to find more determination in the third and fourth quarters of the race to get the results we know this team is capable of producing."
