STARKVILLE, Miss. –– The Alabama women's tennis team (12-5, 2-3 SEC) dropped, 4-2, to Mississippi State (9-8, 1-5 SEC) Sunday at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.

The Match

Mississippi State captured the first win of the day, winning the second doubles match
UA responded with a 6-3 win from Kasia Pitak and Ola Pitak on court three against Alexandra Mikhailuk and Alessia Tagliente
Alabama won the doubles point off a 6-3 victory at the top of the order with the No. 70-ranked doubles pair of Loudmilla Bencheikh and Anne Marie Hiser downing Chloe Cirotte and Tamara Racine
The Bulldogs took the lead off victories on courts four, six and one, respectively, to go up 3-1
Anna Parkhomenko battled through a 7-5 opening set against Alessia Tagliente on court five before winning a 7-6 (3) tiebreak to move the Tide within one, 3-2
Mississippi State would win the next point, however, with a three-set win on court two for the team victory

Alabama hosts a pair of Southeastern Conference matches next weekend, welcoming Missouri to the Alabama Tennis Stadium on Friday for a 5 p.m. CT match, before taking on Arkansas Sunday in a noon contest
