Montana Fouts Earns Second Straight SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week Honor

The senior went 3-0 with 28 strikeouts over 17.0 shutout innings
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second straight week, Alabama's Montana Fouts is the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week, announced Monday by the Southeastern Conference.
Fouts went 3-0 with a save over four appearances last weekend, throwing 17.0 shutout innings while striking out 28. She opened with a complete-game shutout over Southeastern Louisiana, fanning 13 batters while allowing just five to reach base safely. The next day, she earned a win in relief against Northwestern State and then a save against Louisiana Tech in back-to-back games. In the weekend finale, Fouts shut out 20th-ranked Louisiana, striking out seven over five innings in the run-rule victory.
The weekly award is the second this season for Fouts and the 11th of her career, previously winning Freshman of the Week four times in 2019 and Pitcher of the Week five times over her first three years in Tuscaloosa. Crimson Tide pitchers have now won a combined 47 SEC Pitcher of the Week awards.
