
Alabama Swimmers Post Career-Best Times at Bulldog NCAA Qualifying Meet

The Crimson Tide also put six swims on it all time top-10 lists during the meet held in Athens, Ga.
ATHENS, Ga. – The Alabama swimming and diving teams enjoyed a solid outing at the Bulldog NCAA Qualifying Meet in Athens, Ga., at the Ramsey Center on the Georgia campus over the weekend. Â
The Crimson Tide's contingent cam away with several career-best times, including six that rank on Alabama's all time top-10 lists. Alabama also came away with a pair of wins with Jake Marcum taking top honors in the men's 200 backstroke and Gracie Felner touching first in the women's 100 butterfly.
Crimson Tide Highlights
- Jake Marcum won the men's 200 backstroke with a career-best time of 1:40.16, the fastest for the Tide this season, which ranks him the third fastest in UA history
- Gracie Felner won the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.21
- Felner also posted a 52.96 in a time trial of the women's 100 backstroke, the second-fastest time for the Tide this season and ties her for fourth all-time at UA
- Charlie Hawke posted a career-best 1:33.09 to win the B final of the 200 freestyle, a time which ranks him second all-time for Alabama
- Hawke also took third in the prelims of the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:16.55
- Jonathan Berneburg took second in the men's 50 freestyle after posting a career-best 19.32 in finals, with a time that ranks him sixth all-time at UA
- Berneburg was also second in the prelims of the men's 100 freestyle with a time of 42.91
- Bernardo Bondra de Almeida posted a career-best 46.24 in the men's 100 butterfly, taking second place, before swimming a 46.18 in a time trial, which ranks him fourth all-time at UA
- Mela Delmenico clocked a career-best 1:45.42 to take second in the women's 200 freestyle, which ranks her fourth all-time at UA
- Kaique Alves finished second in the men's 200 freestyle with a time of 1:34.65 after swimming a 1:33.34 in prelims
- Alves also swam a 43.26 in the prelims of the 100 freestyle
- Eric Stelmar won the prelims of the men's 200 backstroke with a career-best 1:40.75, which ranks him fifth all-time at UA
- Trey Sheils was fourth in the men's 100 breaststroke after posting a 52.53, just off his career-best 52.42 in prelims, which ranks him sixth all-time at UA
- Linus Kahl swam a 46.71 in the finals of the men's 100 butterfly after posting a career-best 46.62 in prelims
- Mateo Miceli swam a 47.40 in the finals of the men's 100 butterfly to take fifth after posting a 47.16 in prelims
- Miceli also posted a 1:45.05 to take third in the prelims of the men's 200 butterfly
