KNOXVILLE, Ala. – The Alabama swimming and diving team won two titles, earned five medals overall and set new school records in four different events on day two of the Southeastern Conference Championships being held in the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn., this week.
Morgan Scott, Cora Dupre, Kalia Antoniou and Kailyn Winter kicked off finals by winning the Crimson Tide's second relay title of the meet, taking top honors in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.93. It marks UA's second-consecutive SEC gold in the 200 freestyle relay.

In the first individual event of the night, Kensey McMahon bettered her own school record to grab the silver medal in the women's 500 freestyle with a time of 4:38.34, bettering her school record in the event. It was her second SEC medal in the 500 after taking bronze as a sophomore.

Diana Petkova earned bronze in the women's 200 individual medley after posting a new school record of 1:56.01. It is her second SEC medal after taking bronze in the 100 breaststroke last season.
After two days of competition, the Alabama women are in third place with 367 points, just six points behind second place Georgia. The Tide men are also in third place after tallying 358 points, just two points behind second-place Texas A&M.
Head Coach Margo Geer Said
"We had another great day at the pool. We had a good morning and found ways to get better tonight. Very proud of our women's 200 freestyle relay, that was a battle to the very end and to have a freshman (Kailyn Winter) bring it home like that was big. We're also proud of the job that Morgan did in getting her hand on the wall first in the 50 free. Derek, Kensey and Diana all did a great job in moving up in their races tonight and making the podium. Having both (Mohamed) Farouk and Kevin (Li) make the A final in diving was huge, giving us some really valuable points in the team race. We're looking forward to tomorrow."
