Clowney notches his first SEC weekly honor
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -Â Following the Crimson Tide's victory over South Dakota State last week, Alabama freshman Noah Clowney was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The 6-10 freshman from Roebuck, S.C. scored a career-best 22 points against South Dakota State to go along with a career-high four assists in Alabama's win over the Jackrabbits. It was Clowney's best performance on offense this season, draining a season-high five three-pointers and scoring his first 20-point game of the season. This is the second SEC Freshman of the Week honor for Alabama this season, as Brandon Miller earned the honor on Nov. 21, becoming the first SEC school this season to have multiple winners of the award.Â
