Alabama’s Karly Weathers Named SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama's Karly Weathers was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. Weathers helped lead the Crimson Tide women's basketball team to a pair of victories as the team captured its eighth and ninth consecutive wins over Southeastern Louisiana (55-45) and North Florida (89-25).

Scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Crimson Tide to a 64-point victory over North Florida
Recorded a career-high six rebounds against the Ospreys
The double-digit performance against North Florida was her second for the month of December as she contributed 17 points to the team's win over Little Rock (12/15)
Averaged 12.0 ppg and 3.5 rpg against Southeastern Louisiana and North Florida
Also tallied three steals against the Ospreys and an assist against both Southeastern Louisiana and North Florida
Weathers' 21-point performance came in the Tide's third game in a five-day span that closed out the non-conference schedule
Averaging 6.9 ppg, 2.2 rpg, and 1.2 spg this season
