Former Alabama players shine in Week 4 of the 2022 NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Week 4 of the 2022 National Football League season wrapped up this past Monday night. Below is a look at how former Alabama players shined on their respective teams.
Running back Josh Jacobs excelled for the Las Vegas Raiders in their 32-23 win over the Denver Broncos. Jacobs put together a two-touchdown performance on 28 carries for a career-best 144 rushing yards while also catching five passes for 31 yards. Derrick Henry matched Jacobs' 100-plus yard performance, as the former Heisman winner ran for 114 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries. The Titans' back also posted three receptions for 33 yards in the divisional win over the Colts.
Rounding out the group of tailbacks was Damien Harris of the New England Patriots. Harris accumulated 86 yards and a score on 18 carries against the Green Bay Packers. Broncos' wide receiver Jerry Jeudy also finished as one of the top offensive performers on the week. Jeudy reeled in four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown in Denver's matchup with Jacobs and the Raiders.
On the other side of the ball, Washington Commanders' defensive lineman Jonathan Allen put on a show against the Dallas Cowboys. Allen recorded eight tackles, including four for loss, while adding one sack, one pass defense and one quarterback hit. Allen continued his trend of dominant performances on the line and now ranks second in the NFL in tackles for loss (7).
Corner Patrick Surtain II led the Broncos' secondary in limiting the Raiders to only 188 passing yards. Surtain accounted for eight tackles and two pass breakups. Fellow defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick matched Surtain's stat line. The Steeler safety recorded an eight-tackle, two-PBU effort against the Jets. Fitzpatrick also intercepted a pass to set up a touchdown, marking his third pick of the year to tie him for second in the NFL for interceptions.
Matching Fitzpatrick's pick total is Bears safety Eddie Jackson. Jackson notched an interception against the Giants this past week, while also recording nine tackles and a pass breakup. Jackson has continued to be one of Chicago's most productive defenders, ranking second on the team for tackles and leading the Bears in interceptions.
