Top-Seeded Alabama Soccer Faces Eighth-Seeded Mississippi State in SEC Tournament Quarterfinals

The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs will kick off at 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Top-seeded Alabama (17-1-1, 10-0-0 SEC) will kick off the SEC Soccer Tournament in the quarterfinal round Tuesday against eighth-seeded Mississippi State.
The Game
- Mississippi State (11-4-4, 4-4-2 SEC): Tuesday, Nov. 1 – 5 p.m. CT on the SEC Network
- The two teams will compete in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.

The Tide at the SEC Tournament
- Alabama is making its 15th appearance at the SEC Tournament
- It is also the program's fourth-consecutive appearance at the conference tournament
- The Tide opens play in the quarterfinals after earning a first-round bye
- This marks the first time Alabama and Mississippi State have met in SEC Tournament play
- Alabama enters as the No. 1 seed, its highest ranking since winning the West Division title in 1998
History Made
- Alabama clinched its first SEC Championship and finished the season undefeated in conference play with a 10-0 SEC record
- The Crimson Tide is the first team to go undefeated in conference play since South Carolina put together an 11-0 run in 2016
- Alabama's win over Mississippi State (10/20) secured UA the top seed in the SEC Tournament and clinched the West Division title for the first time in 24 years and fourth time in program history
- Alabama won six of seven SEC postseason awards with head coach Wes Hart being tabbed Coach of the Year, Riley Mattingly Parker was named Forward of the Year, Felicia Knox was named Midfielder of the Year, Reyna Reyes was named Defender of the Year and Gianna Paul was named Freshman of the Year
- Additionally, Parker was selected as the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
- It marked the first time in program history that UA earned the league's forward, midfielder or defensive player of the year honors, the second time a UA athlete has picked up freshman of the year and third time a UA coach has earned coach of the year
- The Tide set program records for most wins in a single season with 17 this season and most consecutive wins with 13 victories on the year
- Additionally, UA has set records this year for single-season points (160) and assists (50)
- Alabama has topped five ranked opponents this season in then-No. 5 South Carolina, then-No. 6 BYU, then-No. 7 Arkansas, then-No. 18 Clemson and then-No. 20 Ole Miss
- Felicia Knox holds the single-season record for assists with 15, while McKinley Crone set the single-season and career record for goalkeeping wins at 18 and 35, respectively
- The graduate student goalkeeper recorded her eighth shutout this season and 19th in an Alabama uniform in a 1-0 victory over Auburn (10/27)

- For the second-consecutive week, Alabama is the top-ranked team according to TopDrawerSoccer and No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches poll
- In addition to its team rankings, Alabama's players continue to highlight the national rankings
- Felicia Knox holds an NCAA-leading 15 assists this season and the nation's leading average for the stat at one assist per game
- Riley Mattingly Parker ranks sixth for game-winning goals with five this season, while ranking eighth for total goals with 12 and ninth for points with 29
- Alabama ranks second in total goals (55) and total points (160) and fourth in total assists (50) this season
- The Tide also ranks as the fourth-best scoring offense in the country averaging 2.89 goals a game and ranks fifth in points per game with 8.42 points per game.
- Ashlynn Serepca leads the nation in games played, seeing time in 104 career matches
- McKinley Crone has totaled 414 career saves, fourth most among active players, in addition to playing 8,779.77 minutes, second-most for an active college goalkeeper
The Journey
- Alabama has won a program-record 17 games paced by a 13-game win streak by the Tide
- UA has won 16-straight games at the Alabama Soccer Stadium to remain undefeated in Tuscaloosa for 415 days when the team kicks off on Tuesday (11/1)
- This season marked the first time UA has defeated five ranked opponents and three top-10 teams in program history, topping then-No. 5 South Carolina, then-No. 6 BYU, then-No. 7 Arkansas, then-No. 18 Clemson and then-No. 20 Ole Miss
- UA finished the season with a perfect 10-0 conference run and its first SEC regular-season title
