The Friday session moved the Crimson Tide one step closer to the 2022 season opener on Feb. 18
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball took part in its first full-team practice of the spring on Friday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The Crimson Tide opened the day with a workout before taking part in a six-inning intrasquad matchup.
"It was an exciting day for us," said head coach Brad Bohannon. "The kids did a great job over the break, came back in really good shape, and I could tell collectively that the group worked hard at home. This is a really pleasant group of guys to be around. They're good kids, they practice well, they like to play, and they really like each other. I couldn't be more pleased with where we are at right now, and I think three weeks from today we'll be ready to play some really good baseball."
The Crimson Tide will close out the weekend with a pair of practice-scrimmage splits on Saturday and Sunday. The schedule for each day will begin at 12 p.m. CT with a 1:30 p.m. first pitch for the intrasquad. Alabama will continue to prepare for the start of the 2022 campaign with the season set to begin on Friday, Feb. 18 as the Tide hosts the Xavier Musketeers at Sewell-Thomas Stadium with the season-opener set for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
Admission to Alabama baseball's on-field activity is free to the public. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gate (Gate 3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans are to stay in the lower bowl seating area with access to the upper levels of the stadium strictly prohibited.
