Cheerleading Brings Home National Championship
Congratulations to our all-girl cheer squad for winning the 2022 UCA Division 1A National Championship Sunday night in Orlando! This was the Tide's third all-girl national title and first since 2015. Our coed team also finished runner-up while the dance team had a sixth-place finish at nationals.
Basketball Homestand
Both our men's and women's basketball teams are in action at home this week, beginning with the men's contest against LSU on Wednesday in Coleman. The women then take the court on Thursday for an evening matchup with Arkansas, and the men close out the homestand with Missouri on Saturday. Tickets for all three games are available through the Alabama Ticket Office.
Gymnastics Opens Home Schedule Friday vs. Kentucky
After starting the season with back-to-back road meets against top-3 opponents in Oklahoma and Florida, our gymnastics team finally begins its home schedule this Friday against Kentucky. In addition to being our home opener, it will be Alumni Night in Coleman Coliseum and we will be honoring our 2002 and 2012 NCAA Championship teams as they celebrate the 20th and 10th anniversaries of their respective national titles. We hope you'll join us in the coliseum as we cheer on this year's team and celebrate our alums.
Record Breaking Start
Our track and field teams got the 2022 indoor season started over the weekend with a pair of school records at the Blazer Invitational in the Birmingham Crossplex. Bobby Colantonio Jr. bettered his own school mark in the weight throw in a big way with a toss of 24.15 meters, making him the seventh best collegian all-time in the event. Chelsea Igberaese also got 2022 underway with a school record when she broke Beth Mallory's 2005 mark in the weight throw with a toss of 20.54 meters.
Tennis Season in Full Swing
Our men's tennis team opened the dual-match season last weekend with a pair of wins and continues play this Saturday at home against Oklahoma State, while our women's team kicks off its dual-match season Sunday hosting Samford and Troy in a doubleheader. Great opportunities to head out and support both teams indoors at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility!
Women's Swimming and Diving Beats Auburn on Senior Day
Congrats to Margo Geer and our women's swimming and diving team for closing out their dual meet season with a win over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. As the last home meet of the season, we celebrated a fantastic class on Senior Day in the Alabama Aquatic Center. It was also alumni weekend for our swimming and diving program as we welcomed back a large contingent of those who have made The University of Alabama truly "Where Legends Are Made."
February 1 Tide Totals Deadline
The February 1 Tide Totals priority points calculation deadline is quickly approaching. You can support the education of our student-athletes while earning Tide Totals priority points by donating to the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund (CTSF). The CTSF provides annual scholarship support for our student-athletes, offsetting the costs of tuition, educational fees, books, and room and board. Donors to the CTSF earn three Tide Totals points per $100 donated. Visit crimsontidefoundation.org/ctsf to give.
University Spotlight
It appears we're coming up on National Squirrel Appreciation Day on Friday, so our friends on campus put together this collection of images to shout out the little guys!
#RollTideFriday
We have a few that traveled quite the distance in this week's #RollTideFriday photos. Our first submission is from Judd Henderson in Cape Town, South Africa. Secondly, we have Paul McGuire at Mount Cook in New Zealand.
