
Alabama Track and Field Continued Successful Start to Indoor Season in Birmingham Saturday

The Crimson Tide swept the podium in the women’s 60 meters and took the top-two spots in men’s 4x400-meter relay, with Amari Brown posting a trio of top-three finishes on the day
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama track and field posted another strong showing at the Birmingham Crossplex on Saturday during the Vulcan Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.
Amari Brown had a banner day, picking up three podium finishes. She won the 60 meter dash, took second in the 200 meters and earned another silver-medal finish as the anchor in the Tide's 4x400 meter relay.
Na'Taja Ballard also had a good showing at the Vulcan Invitational, taking fifth in the 60-meter hurdles while also running a leg on the Tide's second place 4x400-meter relay.
Alabama on the Podium
- Alabama swept the women's 60 meters, with Amari Brown (7.49), Milan Fields (7.52) and Ayla Stanisclaus (7.55) going 1-2-3
- Brown picked up her second podium finish of the day in the women's 200 meters, taking second with a time of 24.16
- The women's 4x400-meter relay nabbed second place with the squad of Christal Mosley, Na'Taja Ballard, Chanice Spicer and Brown running a time of 3:44.85
- Ballard (8.69) also took fifth in the women's 60-meter hurdles
- The Tide bagged first- and second-place finishes in the men's 4x400-meter relay to cap off the day when Gabe Serrano, Mason Phillips, Demetrius Jackson and Matthew Weaver set a meet record and picked up the win with a 3:09.37, while Grover Winston, Leander Forbes, Jekovan Rhetta and Clayton Elder went 3:10.60 to take second
