Alabama Track and Field/Cross Country Welcomes Huge Class of Newcomers

The Crimson Tide has added 51 new faces to the program this year, including 22 women and 29 men
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – As the Alabama track and field/cross country program races into the fall semester, the Crimson Tide welcomes an extraordinary group of newcomers to campus.
There are 51 new faces on this year's roster, including 22 women and 29 men. That tally includes 15 transfer students and 36 true freshmen. It is believed to be the largest incoming class for the Tide in program history.
Head Coach Dan Waters Said
"We are extremely proud of the group we've assembled in a number of ways. It's not just the numbers, it's also the hard work that went into talent assessment and the overall quality of who we've brought in. This is a group that will help us in terms of top-end talent, but also in terms of depth. They'll make a difference all over the track, from sprints, hurdles and jumps to distance and throws. We have some that are going to come in and make an immediate impact and some we feel are going to develop into championship-level competitors. Add this group to a proven and talented pool of veterans and this has the potential to be a very special year for us and we can't wait to get rolling."
