
Alabama Volleyball Falls to Troy Thursday, 3-1

The Crimson Tide is back in action Friday at 6 p.m. CT against Buffalo
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A late rally in the fourth set pushed the frame past the 30-point mark, but Alabama volleyball ultimately could not complete the comeback, falling to Troy by set scores of 25-20, 16-25, 23-25 and 30-32.
Alabama (3-1) took the opening set before Troy (2-1) rallied to win the second by nine points and even the match. A two-point decision in the third put the visiting Trojans ahead by one before the back-and-forth fourth set brought the match to a dramatic close with Troy holding on to win, 32-30.
Despite the loss, the Crimson Tide out-hit the Trojans .260-.253 and out-blocked them 10-6. Abby Marjama and Kennedy Muckelroy led the team with 13 kills each with Sarah Swanson close behind with 12. Marjama was two digs shy of a double-double, finishing with eight, while Swanson led the net defense with six blocks. SEC Defensive Player of the Week Dru Kuck posted a team-leading 17 digs while Emily Janek paced the offense with 36 assists.
