The Crimson Tide will open fall play Oct. 10 in Nashville before playing six home games
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball held its first official team practice Thursday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium, as #Team26 gears up for a slate of fall games beginning next month.
Head Coach Patrick Murphy returns for his 24th season at the helm of the Crimson Tide in 2022, alongside Associate Head Coach Alyson Habetz in her 24th year and Assistant Coach Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro in her 10th. The group is joined this year by new volunteer assistant and Alabama alum Ryan Iamurri, who was part of the Tide's 2012 national championship team.
On the field, Alabama returns 12 players from last year's Women's College World Series squad, including All-American Kaylee Tow and NFCA Pitcher of the Year Montana Fouts. The Tide also welcomes nine newcomers, including three transfers and six freshmen.
The team will play eight fall games in the month of October, including six at Rhoads Stadium. Admission for fall games is $5 and tickets will be sold at the gate (cash and credit only). All proceeds from fall softball games benefit the Bama Softball Walk-Off Club, the official booster club for Alabama softball. Fans who have not joined the club will have an opportunity to sign up at the fall games.
