Alabama Soccer Opens SEC Play Thursday Against Ole Miss

The Crimson Tide kicks off against the Rebels at 6 p.m. CT in Oxford, Miss.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team (4-4-0) opens Southeastern Conference competition Thursday in Oxford, Miss., when the Crimson Tide takes on the Ole Miss Rebels (4-1-2) in a 6 p.m. CT match.

The Series Breakdown
- The two programs will meet for the 28th-consecutive season Thursday as the Crimson Tide plays its 14th game Oxford, Miss.
- Alabama trails 8-18-1 all-time against the Rebels and holds a 3-10-1 record when on the road
- The last two road games have resulted in a tie and a win for UA
- In the last four years, the Tide has gone 1-2-1 against Ole Miss, including forcing two games into overtime

- Serepca leads the team with three goals after creating space and bending a ball into the upper left corner against UAB
- Knox is the fourth athlete to record two or more goals for UA this season, joining Serepca, Henderson and midfielder Leah Kunde
- Serepca also leads the team in points with seven, while Henderson's pass to Knox against TCU gave her the lead in assists with two
- Thirteen players have contributed to the UA offense with nine scoring goals and seven tabbing assists
- Goalkeeper McKinley Crone recorded her 16th save of the season
The Rebels
- Ole Miss is coming off a 1-0 road win against Western Kentucky, handing the Lady Toppers their first loss of the season
- The Rebels have faced one ranked opponent this season, dropping a 3-0 decision to then-ranked No. 17 UCF
- Molly Martin and Haleigh Stackpole lead the team in points with 10 apiece, while Martin also holds a team-leading five goals and Stackpole holds a team-leading eight assists
- Channing Foster has also made a significant contribution to the Rebels' offense adding four goals and an assist to the season
- Ashley Orkus leads the defense, playing all 670 minutes between the posts
- The Ole Miss goalkeeper has made 19 saves and has allowed 10 goals this season
- Ole Miss earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament last season and made a run to the Sweet Sixteen before falling to Duke 1-0
