SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Alabama men's golf team carded a team score of seven-over par 287 Friday in the opening round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Crimson Tide will tee off Saturday's second round of the three-day, 54-hole event at 11:40 a.m. CT (9:40 a.m. PT).

Day One Recap

The Crimson Tide was led by Thomas Ponder, who collected his 11^th career round in the 60s with a one-under par 69 on Friday
Tyler Lipscomb finished birdie-bogey to end his day with a 1-over par 71, placing him in a tie for 51^st
Jack Goldasich is in a tie for 64^th after shooting a 3-over 73 on the 7,115-yard par 70 Mirabel Golf Course
JP Cave finished the day with a 4-over 74, followed by Canon Claycomb who will enter the second round in a tie for 80^th with a 75
Dillon West, who made his competitive debut for the Tide, shot an even par 70 to end the day in a tie for 37^th overall
No. 17 Georgia Tech (264) holds a two-stroke clubhouse lead over No. 11 Clemson (266), with No. 20 Auburn (271), No. 33 Louisville (273), No. 28 Washington (274) and No. 29 San Diego State (274) rounding out the top-five scoring teams

Round Two

The Crimson Tide will tee off the second round of play Saturday morning off Hole No. 10 at 11:40 a.m. CT (9:40 a.m. PT)
The field consists of 14 teams, eight of which are found among the Bushnell Golf Coaches Poll Preseason Top-40
The tournament is in its fourth year in 2021 and is hosted by Georgia State, despite being nearly 2,000 miles away from its Atlanta-based campus
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday
