TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama's William Jennings blistered the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa course on day one of the 2026 NCAA Men's Golf Championships on Friday, carding an opening round 6-under par 66. As a result, Jennings is in a three-way tie for first entering the second round, joining San Diego's Ian Maspat and Arizona State's Connor Williams for the clubhouse lead.
Jennings is set to tee off Saturday's second round at 12:42 p.m. CT (10:42 p.m. MT) off Hole No. 10.
William Jennings Comments
"I thought I played smart golf out there today. It's not really a golf course that you can fire at that much. You try to give yourself as many quality looks as possible and try to make a few putts. I tried to envision every single shot I was going to hit, because you have to be pretty precise with all the undulations of the greens. It feels really good to shoot a 66 today, and I've been playing good for a while now. So, I'm focused on keeping it going and not trying to think about much else."
