The 2012 Crimson Tide graduate returns to The Capstone
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Former Alabama rower Bianca Arrington is returning to the Capstone as the team's newest assistant coach, head coach Glenn Putyrae announced Monday.
"When presented with the opportunity to add to our staff we knew that we wanted someone that not only had coaching experience but possessed a passion for our program at the University of Alabama," Putyrae said. "As an alum of our program, she has a heartfelt understanding of what makes being a member of the Crimson Tide unique and exceptional. She brings a wealth of coaching experience and success from the scholastic and club level.
"We are excited to have Bianca back in T-Town rejoining our program!"
A 2012 graduate of the University of Alabama, Arrington most recently was the Women's Head Rowing Coach at McLean High School in McLean, Va., and served as the Junior Women's Coach at TBC Racing in Washington D.C. while also rowing in their Open Women's competitive program. As a rower for the Tide from 2009-12, she earned gold medals with the Freshman 8+ in the grand finals at the 2009 SIRA Championships and then as part of the First Varsity 8+ at the 2011 SeaWorld Cal Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic and the grand finals of the 2011 SIRA championship.
"I couldn't be more excited to come back to Tuscaloosa and help continue to build this program into a powerhouse," Arrington said. "I'm eager to work with and learn from such a strong coaching staff. This returning group of student-athletes are coming off an amazing season and I look forward to continuing this momentum with them and this year's incoming freshmen."
