The four honorees are tied for the most in program history
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A program-best four Alabama softball players earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors Thursday, with Bailey Hemphill selected as the Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for the second time in her career.
Hemphill, who was previously selected as the Team Member of the Year in 2019, becomes the first repeat winner since Alabama's Haylie McCleney won in back-to-back seasons in 2015-16. Hemphill earned First Team honors, becoming the first ever four-time Academic All-American in program history. She is joined on the first team by Montana Fouts and Kaylee Tow along with Alexis Mack on the third team.
The four award winners tie the single-season program record set in 2014. The Crimson Tide has had multiple honorees in eight of the last 10 seasons, now boasting a total of 33 over the program's history.
Hemphill, Fouts, Tow and Mack join football's Mac Jones and Landon Dickerson on the Tide's Academic All-America list for 2020-21, with the at-large and track & field teams still to be announced. Alabama now has 198 all-time honorees.
