Alabama’s Rhyan White Advances to the USA Olympic Team Trials Final of the 100m Backstroke

After ranking second coming out of prelims with a 58.88, before advancing to the final with a time of 58.99

OMAHA, Neb. – Alabama's Rhyan White roared into the final of the 100-meter backstroke at the United States Swimming Olympic Team Trials Wave II on Monday.

White posted the second fastest time out of prelims with a 58.88 before going 58.99 in the semifinals, tying for fourth place heading into the finals and a chance to make the U.S. team and compete in Tokyo.

Day Two Results for the Crimson Tide

Women's 100-meter backstroke – Rhyan White took second in prelims with a 58.88 and fourth in the semifinals with a time of 58.99, while Cora Dupre was 25^th (1:01.48), Morgan Scott was 28^th (1:01.66) and Morgan Liberto was 38^th (1:02.00)
Women's 100-meter breaststroke – Cat Wright took 30^th with a time of 1:09.90
Men's 100-meter backstroke – Christopher O'Connor finished 21^st (54.85), Matt Menke was 22^nd (54.87), Eric Stelmar took 36^th (55.71) and Jake Marcum was 48^th(56.21)
Women's 400-meter freestyle – Kensey McMahon finished 10^th in a time of 4:11.03

Preliminaries start at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, with the evening session getting underway at 6:45 p.m. CT
